We are aware that there was recently a confirmed case of measles in Travis county. Below is a link to the Public Health Department’s information on the issue.
If your child is less than 4 years old they may not have received both doses of the MMR vaccine yet. If they were exposed to the measles at one of the listed places, feel free to call us to discuss any symptoms that your child may have. It is possible to give a vaccination to an exposed person who is not yet displaying any symptoms of the disease. Please be sure to call the office; we will not be seeing suspected cases in our office, but will evaluate individual patients by phone and refer to Dell Children’s for appropriate testing.
