Gladys joined GROW with 3 years of experience working at a local children’s hospital (with pediatric medical & surgical patients). She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry, and is studying for the medical school entrance exam. Popular with our patients, Gladys makes visits fun for our little ones and loves getting to know each of our GROW families. She is the official President of the “GROW Holiday and Celebration Committee”, and is responsible for all of our beautiful decorations. Alicia is the loving mother of two handsome boys, and enjoys BBQs and spending time with family and friends. During the summer you can find her soaking up some sun at the beach, and every spring she enjoys the Rodeo Austin cowboy breakfast. A skilled and thorough Medical Assistant, she has been with GROW since 2017. Always striving to learn new skills and serve our patients in as many ways possible, Alicia took on a Team Lead role in 2023. She is responsible for many aspects of vaccine inventory and education, immunization registry, and generally keeps everyone in line. GROW is lucky to have Alicia, and she enjoys the connectiosn she’s made over the years with our patient community.
Shelly joined GROW in 2019. She received her Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Kansas. She has been a medical assistant since 2010, working at Seton Medical Center on the Medical-Surgical floor, as well as the Emergency Department and later in a Radiation Oncology Clinic. While currently preparing to enter a nursing program to become a registered nurse, Shelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two little boys. In her spare time she likes going out to eat and spending time outdoors with friends. She loves children and looks for any opportunity to hold the babies here at GROW! She is an “easy crier” so if you see her tearing up, don’t worry. She’s just so happy.
Jeni relocated to Austin from Arizona, in 2024. With her prior clinical experience being in oncology and laboratory services, she’s loving the change to pediatrics and the opportunity to interact with the kiddos and witness their growth and development. She recently bought her first house, which she shares with her boyfriend and their two dogs. In her free time, Jeni enjoys volunteering in her community, gardening, playing video games, and her newest hobby- baking bread (of which we are all grateful recipients!). Wendy joined the GROW team in 2023, after over a decade of working as a Medical Assistant in Southern California. She came to us from a pediatric practice there, and the field is truly what she loves….especially seeing the newborn babies. Born and raised in California, Wendy has wanted to work with children for as long as she can remember. She is fluent in Spanish and proud to communicate confidently with our Spanish speaking families. In her free time, Wendy likes taking advantage of Austin’s extensive park system and generally exploring her new city. She is also our Disney trivia pro- ask her anything!
Earth was born and raised in Austin, and joined our team in 2025. As a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, she’s worked in Family Medicine since 2023. Currently, she’s in nursing school and plans to focus on pediatric nursing when she receives her RN. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her pets, run, paint and bake.
When Emily joined GROW in 2019 as our Practice Manager, her background in healthcare primarily included oncology and gynecologic oncology. She holds a BA in both Anthropology and International Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, where she was born and raised. Emily is passionate about equitable and accessible healthcare, as well as childhood literacy, and enjoys connecting, networking and volunteering in these areas. She is committed first and foremost to excellent patient care, and has been honored to serve the amazing families she’s met in Austin, while learning all there is to know about pediatric healthcare management. Before coming to Austin in 2016, Emily and her family lived in St. Pete, Florida as well as Philadelphia. In her free time, she loves to take in live music, build upon her vinyl collection, shop the area thrift stores, take on ambitious home projects, and cook for her family. You’ll undoubtedly find Emily at various activities around town with her two elementary-aged kiddos, and she takes every chance she can to be active within the school PTA. Please say hello any time! Allie joined GROW shortly after moving to Austin in the summer of 2024, to pursue a career in nursing at Texas State University. Born and raised in San Antonio, she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of the Incarnate Word. She loves working with children and families, and has past experience in family practice and pediatrics. You might see Allie at a music festival around town, which she enjoys attending. She also loves all things spooky, watching movies, and traveling with her friends and family.
Lesli joined the GROW team in 2022. She brings a smiling face and positive attitude to the front desk during our busy morning times. She has over 15 years of experience working in medical offices, including phlebotomy, lab technician and medical assisting positions. While this is her first experience working in Pediatrics, she is a devoted mother to two young children, and has most recently spent time as a stay at home parent with them. Lesli’s family recently moved to Austin from New Mexico, where she was born and raised. So far, she is definitely not a fan of the Austin area traffic, although she’s loving GROW and her new work community! In her free time, Lesli enjoys coking, baking, eating and listening to music.
Rae came to join GROW in 2025, after moving to Austin from her hometown of El Paso. She has extensive front office experience the field of Developmental Pediatrics, which she enjoyed working in and felt a strong affinity for. Rae has interest in training for a career as a physical trainer, and enjoys staying active; lifting weights, climbing, and practicing yoga. In her freetime, you might find her basking in the sunny Texas weather, or exploring her artistic side through several mediums. She describes herself as a “neurodivergent goofball” and her favorite animal is a tie between frogs and chihuahuas.
Jasmin has been a pediatric nurse since 2011. She has experience in pediatric critical care and pediatric pulmonology. Prior to becoming a nurse, she worked for many years as a veterinary technician. Pediatrics is her passion, and she loves working with children of all ages. Jasmin and her wife welcomed their son in 2015, and the family’s home is also host to several sweet pets. At GROW, Jasmin is is primarily phone-based as a telephone triage RN, and many of our families recognize her friendly voice as a source of guidance and reassurance. We are proud to offer this service daily- and grateful to have Jasmin in this position three days a week! Jasmin loves meeting the families she helps over the phone, so please tell her “Hi!” if you should see her in the office.
Joining the team in the spring of 2025, Jamie came to GROW directly from working in a Neonatal Intensive Care unit. She has 8 years of experience in NICU and general pediatric hospital nursing, and is looking forward to the relatively calm pace of outpatient clinic nursing. Jamie absolutely loves babies and children, and is eager to connect with our GROW parents through her role in the clinic, focusing primarily on phone triage. A Houston native, Jamie spent five years living (and nursing!) in San Francisco, before returning to Texas with her husband, In her free time, she enjoys fitness, traveling, enjoying music festivals with friends, eating out at some of Austin’s great spots, hiking and being outdoors with her sweet golden retriever. We feel so lucky to have Jamie join our nursing department at GROW, and welcome her experience and friendly smile.
Nahiely is a graduate of Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas in Matamoros, Mexico. In 2016 she obtained her medical degree, and as a physician she gained experience in several areas, including surgery, ob/gyn, and pediatrics. As an International Medical Graduate (IMG), Nahiely is currently preparing for her next step towards becoming a licensed physician (and pediatrician!) in the US.
Her main area of interest is neonatology, and she hopes to secure a spot in a residency program here to pursue this. While she does, we are extremely lucky to have her at GROW as a clinical assistant. Her international perspective on pediatric medicine is an asset to the clinic, and Nahiely is patient and kind with our little ones. She is enjoying the experience of working in a clinical setting in the US. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and video games, and is an enthusiastic participant in GROW’s weeklong Halloween costume celebration!
Danielle was born in Florida and moved to Texas as a tween. She considers herself a South Texas nomad, living everywhere between the Valley, San Antonio, and Austin. Her professional background includes senior care, family medicine and pediatrics, and she also has experience with Montessori teaching. She loves baking, cooking, reading, and practicing in different art mediums. You can find Danielle at GROW’s front desk, always eager to greet our families with a friendly smile.
